Who Are The Mennonites

Mennonite Church USA is an Anabaptist Christian denomination, founded in 2002 by the merger of the Mennonite Church and the General Conference Mennonite Church. Members of this historic peace church seek to follow Jesus by rejecting violence and resisting injustice. MC USA’s Renewed Commitments state the following shared commitments among its diverse body of believers: to follow Jesus, witness to God’s peace and experience the transformation of the Holy Spirit. MC USA is part of Mennonite World Conference, a global faith family that includes churches in 60 countries. Sharing a Vision of Healing & Hope

God calls us to be followers of Jesus Christ and,
by the power of the Holy Spirit, to grow as communities of grace, joy and peace,
so that God’s healing and hope flow through us to the world.

We are a diverse community, and one thing that unites us is how we practice our faith in the world…

  • Actively following Jesus is central to our lives.
  • We seek to follow Jesus above nationalism, racism or materialism.
  • We are a historic peace church. We follow Jesus as a peacemaker and believe that we can practice the way of Jesus’ reconciling love in human conflicts and in response to violence.
  • We believe in living simply and in service to others as a witness to God’s love for the world.

      FOLLOW JESUS

      WITNESS TO GOD’S PEACE

      EXPERIENCE TRANSFORMATION

#BeTransformed is Mennonite Church USA’s call for individuals and congregations to fully live into our Renewed Commitments to follow Jesus, witness to God’s peace and experience transformation.

It is our prayer that, through the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, we can be symbols of hope, restoration and renewal in our communities.
