(Mennonite Church USA) — Planning for MennoCon21, the biennial convention of Mennonite Church USA (MC USA), is underway, with convention planners creating a hybrid event. The first convention newsletter, published this week, shares initial details about the convention, July 6-10, 2021 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
“I am holding out hope that we will be able to meet in person in Cincinnati, Ohio,” said Scott Hartman, MC USA director of event planning, in his opening letter. “We realize that 10 months from now, there will likely be some restrictions related to the pandemic. We also realize some people still might not be comfortable traveling or gathering in large groups. We will continue to keep you updated as plans are formed.”
The newsletter discusses plans for a hybrid event featuring both in-person and virtual events, and highlights the protocols that the Duke Energy Convention Center and the convention’s hotel partners are implementing to ensure visitor safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional information about the convention, including a pricing schedule, also is included.
