The MC USA Women in Leadership steering committee gathered in Valley Village, California, on July 16-18, to plan the 2025 Women in Leadership Summit. Open to all women across MC USA, this one-day event will be on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina, immediately preceding the Follow Jesus ’25 convention. The theme for the summit is “Beholding it together.” More details to come!
Last week’s gathering was the first time the current steering committee members met face-to-face as a group. They spent time getting to know each other, as they reflected on the history and mission of Women in Leadership and explored ways to serve and equip the denomination.
The Women in Leadership steering committee members are (as pictured, back row): Shannon Dycus, vice president of Student Affairs and dean of students at Eastern Mennonite University; Abby Endashaw, summer service national coordinator for Mennonite Central Committee; Bonita Rockingham, legal communications professional; Sue Park-Hur, MC USA director of racial/ethnic engagement; (front row) Lynette McIntosh-Madrigal, community development advocate; Lorraine Stutzman Amstutz, MC USA denominational minister for peace and justice, who serves as the MC USA staff liaison; and Katerina Gea, lead pastor of Pasadena (California) Mennonite Church. Women in Leadership works to dismantle patriarchal systems in Mennonite Church USA by empowering women to live out the call of God on their lives, increase their capacities, and contribute their wisdom in congregations, area conferences, agencies and institutions.
