Mauricio Chenlo is denominational minister for church planting, a shared position of Mennonite Mission Network and Mennonite Church USA Executive Board.
This summer in Kansas City, church planters, coaches and conference leaders from Pennsylvania to Florida and California to Oregon, met to share stories and encouragement and to make plans for a Mennonite Church USA church planting summit in 2016.
We were energized by what God is doing and inspired as we heard again the words of Jesus, “As the Father sent me, so I send you.”
We thought that our meeting was a small taste of what we could experience at a national summit.
After consulting various conference and churchwide calendars, we settled on March 31 – April 2, 2016, for the summit. We are delighted that Karl Bernhard, church planter with Iglesia Amor Viviente, an associate member of Gulf States Mennonite Conference, extended a warm and enthusiastic invitation to New Orleans.
We will send you more details as the planning proceeds, but for now we are asking you to please help us get out the “save the date” notice. Please consider posting the following notice in your conference newsletter or mailing it to people in your conference who might have interest.
