Please join MC USA in praying for God’s deliverance from the wildfires engulfing the Los Angeles region of California and for MC USA congregations from both Mosaic Mennonite Conference and Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference that are impacted them.
“The fires in the greater Los Angeles area have wrought widespread destruction and loss. People all across the Southland have been displaced and sadly thousands of homes have been lost to the conflagration that continues to spread devastation and grief,” said PSMC Executive Conference Minister Stanley Green.
To date, dozens of families from Jemaat Kristen Indonesian Anugerah, International Worship Church, Pasadena Mennonite Church and Wholicare (Altadena) were impacted and/or evacuated, including three pastors and an MC USA staff member. Three families from Pasadena Mennonite and one family from JKI Anugerah lost their homes, and many others suffered damages.
“We will work to accompany them along with others who remain evacuated and to support the ongoing efforts at recovery through congregations and partners in the LA area,” said Steve Kriss, executive conference minister of Mosaic Mennonite Conference. Mosaic has five congregations in the LA region.
Thankfully, the Full Circle Thrift Store, owned by Pacific Southwest Mennonite Conference, was untouched despite the surrounding devastation.
Please consider how you, your family and congregation might help in this time of great loss and need.
