Sheri Hartzler is new chair of NCC Communication Commission electronic programming committee

I am delighted to share the news that Sheri Hartzler of Third Way Media, the Mennonite Chuch media center in Harrisonburg, Virginia, has agreed to serve as chair of the Media and Electronic Programming Committee of the Commission, effective immediately. She succeeds Ava Martin of ELCA in Chicago.
The Media and Electronic Programming Committee provides leadership to the Council’s national television documentaries and liturgical broadcasts via ABC, CBS and NBC networks, and serves as a clearinghouse and professional development workshop for communion personnnel in radio, TV and other programming venues.
Sheri is a 20-year veteran of the Mennonite media center, having worked in a wide variety of roles developing both radio and TV programs, viewers’ study guides, and promotional materials. Currently, she serves as interim co-director of Third Way Media, the seven-member team that serves the Mennonite Mission Network with electronic and public media products that assist the church in its outreach. She is a member of the governing board of Odyssey Networks, and recently served as chair of the Odyssey member council.
